WordPress.org is a self-hosted platform that will need to be set up using a WordPress website host (or server). WordPress.org is also where you’ll find a plethora of free software & plugins that you can download and install on your own web server.
WordPress.com manages your hosting and you don’t have to download plugins, pay a fee for website hosting, or manage a web server.
